Research interests

Paul Hastings’ research focuses on the examination of biological and environmental contributors to competent and maladaptive functioning among children. His current research examines neuroendocrine factors and their interaction with parental and cultural socialization, as well as the expression and regulation of emotion in children and adolescents. He recently conducted research that evaluated the impact of stress and prejudice on the health of young gays and lesbians, through the use of neuroendocrine measures in combination with the analysis of psychosocial measures.
